Its been such a sweet Christmas, I'm stuffed full of pud, brandy butter and turkey and I feel like hibernating for a time. I'll be sharing a few special pieces from my Christmas haul later this week so check back here.

Also on boxing day i took another crack at finishing Martin Gayford's "Man with the Blue Scarf" and thought i would share this little part with you:

A comedy poem from Lucian Freud's school-days:

"Worms have no tounges so they cannot lie,
They have no eyes so they cannot cry,
Moral: We Should have sympathy for worms."

 Merry Christmas :D

Book Sculptures

I started making these book sculptures after seeing some for sale on Etsy. They are relativity easy to make, but they do require a lot of patience and time as all the pages are individually folded.

Man with a Blue Scarf.

 On Sitting for a Portrait
by Lucian Freud and Martin Gayford

I just started reading a new book. Its one of those books that once you start reading you can't put down. The book is made up of personal conversations, observations and stories Martin Grayford was privy to while sitting for a portrait with artist Lucian Freud. As the painting progresses MG and LF's relationship grows and you start gaining a rare insight into how Freud works, paints and makes artistic decisions.
Anyways... I recommend it, and with that said I think I will go back to reading.

"The picture in order to move us must never merely remind us of life, but must acquire a life of its own, precisely in order to reflect  life"- Lucian Freud
